Researchers from CREDS (Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions) have conducted a study that has revealed that e-bikes could cut transport emissions by half. The study found that even replacing just 20% of car miles travelled on an e-bike would allow for four to eight million fewer tonnes of carbon emitted each year. E-bikes could offer a safe and sustainable route back to normal that we are all searching for.

The greatest impact on carbon emissions was found to be in rural and suburban areas. E-bikes can allow people to make longer journeys than you would normally on a conventional bike, particularly important as we seek virus free ways to travel to and from work.

The UK Government has said they will offer financial incentives for individuals to buy e-bikes, which could mean cheaper e-bikes for everyone. With the addition of the designated cycle lanes, a reduction in road vehicles due to working from home and now the chance to get up to a third off switching to an e-bike - Now is the time to be a part of the new regime!
